Contributions to costs

  • All members contribute towards the running costs and maintenance of Brighton Belle.
  • BBSC members will contribute £35 per days cruising or £15 for a part day cruise.
  • Guest members will pay an additional £20 per day for temporary membership making their contribution £55 per day cruising or £25 for a part day cruise. 
  • In addition, all on board will share between them the direct costs incurred by Brighton Belle on your cruise including shared food and drink, berthing fees, fuel used etc. This will be managed with a boat kitty so bring some cash please.

All members, their guests and visitors may use the yacht’s facilities but do so entirely at their own risk and will assume full responsibility for their own participation and accept that:

The Club, its skippers, members, volunteers and agents do not accept any liability for any damage to or loss of property belonging to members, their guests or visitors to the yacht.

The Club, it's members, volunteers and agents do not accept any liability for any inherent risks, dangers or hazards both known and unknown, nor for personal injury or loss of life arising out of the use of the yacht whether sustained by members, their guests or visitors, whether or not such damage or injury could have been attributed to or was occasioned by the neglect, default or negligence of any of the Club officers, committee members, volunteers or agents of the Club.

As with any sport there is some risk associated with sailing. You should follow all commands and instructions of the designated skipper and mate on the yacht and should do so in a calm and controlled manner. The decks of yachts are often wet and therefore slippery and care must be taken when moving around, suitable footwear should be worn at all times. A life jacket will be given to you at the start of the cruise and you are encouraged to wear it whenever you are on deck or in the dinghy. When instructed by your skipper to wear a life jacket and/or lifeline you must do so without fail.

Your declaration:

I confirm that I am over 18 years of age. That I am physically fit to cruise on Brighton Belle and that any existing medical conditions will be made known to the yacht's skipper in writing before the start of the cruise.

I understand that sailing is a potentially hazardous activity and I assume full responsibility for my participation in all risks associated with sailing ‘Brighton Belle’, I understand that I Brighton Belle Sailing Club recommend that I obtain personal insurance at my own expense in respect of any loss, harm or injury which may occur.

I release and indemnify the Club, its officers and skippers against any claim for injury, harm or loss to my person or property whatever the occurrence or cause.

By submitting this form I confirm that I have read and understood the above and that I agree to be bound by these terms.


The skipper will confirm your place on the crew, usually within a couple of days.

Following acceptance of this application, your contribution must be submitted soon after to secure your place on the cruise.

Contributions once paid are not returnable unless for any reason the cruise does not take place.
