Mallaig to Oban Cruise Exploring Hebrides

 Registration Closed
Date: 14 July 2018 12:00 - 21 July 2018 12:00

Venue: Mallaig

With a Scottish skipper & guide who has extensively sailed in this part of the Hebrides.
The theme for the week will be a blend of interesting sailing to include remote anchorages combined with runs ashore to restaurants, pubs & distilleries.

Enc is the potential cruising area with the actual chosen route as always subject to the weather.
Hebrides.....the orange arrow marks Mallaig :
Near Mallaig includes Arisaig, Loch Moidart, Loch Nevis, Small Isles (Eigg,Muck,Rhum), Canna.
And we could spend a whole week exploring just these.
SW Skye ( Loch Scavaig & Talisker) is an option as is East Skye (Portree, Rona & Plocton) should there be a blow from the W or SW.
If however there was a suitable weather window, Canna to Barra is a mere 35 NM that could be an easy leg for Brighton Belle
Then there is the choice regarding how to get south to Oban, down the Sound of Mull or down the West of Mull, both being equally charming options.
Staffa and Iona versus Tobermory & Loch Aline being just a few of the alternatives.
The week's weather will of course determine the final plan.

Remote Skye Anchorage....dramatic anchorage at foot of the Cuillins :
